Sibongakonke Shoba has denied accusations made by the President of the African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL), Bathabile Dlamini, who accused the Sunday Times of spreading a misleading false narrative.

Sibongakonke Shoba says that everything on the article was accurate and was word from the interview he had with the ANCWL president Bathabile Dlamini, according to Sibongakonke Shoba the ANCWL will not call for Manana’s resignation. This is after the newspaper quoted ANCWL president Bathabile Dlamini as saying there were other senior government leaders who were worse culprits and those men must be dealt with first.

“The media treats ANC leaders differently, there is sexual harassment everywhere, even in the opposition parties, she further went on to say that there is  leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) was accused of sexual harassment, the media never called for such actions.”-Sibongakonke Shoba

In a statement released by the ANCWL, the organisation says the paper wants to create an impression that Manana is being protected by the ANCWL in particular it’s President of which according to the President it is not.
