Born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Entheny Moyo has always been passionate about singing gospel music- his desire has always been to see God’s people transformed through His presence. Speaking to TCN journalist Sisathi Nomatye, Entheny let us in on what we can expect from album, titled Kingdom Sound, which will be released later this month.
TCN: You’re launching an album soon, for how long have you been working on it and how has the experience been?
The journey has been a bit challenging in terms of working on the album . The late nights and some sacrifices that went into the project but it was all worth it . I do not only enjoy the end result but the process cos that’s what stretches you and makes you a better person at the end of the day.
TCN: When did you become a musician and what inspired you?
I’ve been serving as a musician , worshipper in the house of God for as long as I can remember (since Sunday School) and had done a few group projects but I just sensed it was about time beginning of 2017 to pursue my own music career . What inspired me was the fact that I can actually change and be a blessing to more lives through my music than just to confine the gift to a particular audience (church setup) .I felt God wanted to use me at a commercial level to touch and transform lives.
TCN: What is your favourite song on the album and why?
My favourite song in the album is titled “Above All”, I just love the hook at the end which says “Busa Busa kulendawo”. Come to think of it, that wasn’t initially part of the song but as we were in studio- that rhythm just dropped in my heart and we just flowed in that direction and there was a great jam. For me, that just an amazing song and the mixture of the two languages (Zulu and English) just makes it extra special.
TCN: What challenges did you experience while working on it?
There might have been challenges here and there during the project but thank God He always sends people and partners who stand by me and make sure the vision becomes a reality.
TCN: Who did you work with on the album and what is the one message you want people to take from it?
This album was recorded under Faithland Music with Mr Bell as the producer and it carries a message of worship, it’s just an expression of love to God. I believe this album has to it a ‘Kingdom Sound” because worship is what we do in the kingdom, the Bible says the 24 elders bow and call Him holy day and night.
TCN: Music-wise, who are your influences?
I enjoy Khaya Mthethwa a lot . I love his energy, song compositions and arrangement . Another great man of God who I grew up listening to is Bishop Benjamin Dube, the man has been consistent through all these years that’s what I love about Him .
TCN: What should people look forward to at your album launch?
I urge everyone to make an effort to attend .There will be a number of supporting acts such as Avis Ndlovu , Khayalakhe Skhosana , Tobisax and many more. Come expectant, I believe God wants to touch lives , heal people and mend broken hearts. It’s a concert but I believe it’s God’s work so let God do as He wills . All I can say is above the music and the melodies, my prayer is that people have encounters with God on the day.
The launch will be taking place on the 30th of June at Prevailing Word Ministries International in Northriding, Johannesburg.
